Hello,

I'm a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where I also earned an MS in Computer Science as well as an MS in Statistics.

I study complex systems and social networks, and how they determine outcomes of longstanding interest to urban sociologists, demographers, and criminologists. Drawing on novel sources of big data and advanced methods from statistics and computer science, I show how novel measurement and estimation strategies improve precision and reveal mechanisms of socioeconomic and racial inequality that traditional data sources and techniques miss.

My work has been published in Science Advances, Demography, Social Problems, Social Networks, Social Science & Medicine, City & Community, Nature Scientific Reports, Social Science Research, and Socius, and has received awards from the American Sociological Association.
